Regis Guard Ptasinski Heads East For Prep School
Regis Jesuit’s starting point guard on its past two state championship teams, Joey Ptasinski, will play at the New Hampton School next season, Regis coach Ken Shaw confirmed in an email.
New Hampton, a prep school based in New Hampshire, has a strong track record of sending its athletes to Division I schools. In the past two seasons, 11 basketball players from New Hampton received scholarships or went on to play in the Ivy League (the Ivy League does not permit athletic scholarships). Two other basketball players received scholarships from Division II institutions, according to the school's website.
Ptasinski had an excellent prep career at Regis. The two-year starter averaged 18.3 points last season and is known as a lethal outside shooter. He was named honorable mention all-state by the Denver Post and the “Chauncey Billups Player of the Year” by Joint Effort Primetime Hoops.
